Community Futures Shuswap and our regional partners have hired a consultant, Ironsight Business Strategies Inc. to conduct a very important Labour Market Assessment and Action Plan for Salmon Arm, CSRD Area C, Neskonlith Indian Band, Little Shuswap Indian Band, Adams Lake Indian Band and Splatsin Indian Band. The purpose of this project is to identify and address the factors that contribute to the current labour market imbalance affecting these communities, including labour market supply and demand, current and emerging labour market trends and barriers to retention. From this data, strategies will be developed to will build community capacity, strengthen partnerships, and define an action

The Shuswap Labour Market Assessment & Planning Project (SLMAPP) originated through the Community Employer Partnership Program. 2011 Community Employer Partnership Program (CEPP) Initiated in 2011 by the Province of BC, the CEPP was created to help BC Communities to: • promote job creation and employment opportunities, • employ a community collaborative planning process, • identify and respond to local labour market issues and needs, and • support innovative community/employer Labour Market partnerships.
